Fortunately the location of the plate does not block any visability. Put a piece of cardboard there in your car and you will see. Were it an inch higher, it would block the sight over the fender.
Nebraska doen not have annual inspections or safety stickers. I know that this solution is not as good as no plate at all but I think it might discourage some stops. I will only drive the car to car shows for the first year.
Besides looking ugly, it's not legal. The front license plate has to be "permanently attached" to the front of the car. Many have tried, but it doesn't work.

In fact, you are more likely to get stopped by a cop, who will tell you that it is not legal to do that.

Yep.....It will definitely get more attention from the HEAT being improperly mounted in the windshield than not having one at all!!! My advice.... leave it off! To tell you the truth, stops made for "no front plate" in states requiring them are made for a number of reasons, the most popular being for a probable cause stop because the officer wants to check someone out for whatever reason. (Before anyone attempts to flame me, many forms of criminal behavior are found and solved this way). If you get a ticket for no front plate, at least here in Texas, you either got yanked by a rookie, he or she is a ***** and/or was having a bad day, or you escalated the stop and pissed off the officer. Any average law enforcement officer will admit that writing someone up for no front plate is chickensh*t and anyway, in my opinion, most cops accept the fact that almost no Corvettes have them mounted. It just doesn't look right, legal or not.
You will probably attract more attention this way. More importantly, god forbid you get into a serious accident and if the plate is not mounted securely in its present location, it will go flying through your interior slicing up anything in it's path. Not a pretty picture.

Yes, I think you should rethink your decision about the plate.
If you got in an accident, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to have that thing flying around in the cabin with you. It could chop some things off that you might not want to part with.

What's the fine for no front plate in Nebraska?
In my state, it's $101...that's why Red Racer wears a front plate nowadays. Had the fine been in the $25 - $40 range, I may have ignored that law. But over $100 makes me want to comply and save those $$ for some cool mods.
P.S. That plate location could cause some serious damage to your forehead in case of accident. You should probably move it.
