So I was given the new heavy duty battery a week ago and thought everything was great.Well hadn't used her for 1 day ,thought I'd take a ride with the top off cause its so gorgeous here and nothin! Jump
started her and took her to the dealer.I'll follow up as soon as I hear something. At least it wasn't a weekend when I couldn't do anything.
First Year GM model Thats what I say. I know is a bad thing and Im sorry to hear of your problems BUT this is just history repeting its self im afraid.
I've only put ~120 miles on my car in the 2 1/2 weeks I've had it. It's mostly sat in my garage due to work and rain. I think I'd be a prime target for this problem but so far the few times I've taken it out (the last being yesterday) I've not had any issues.
Good luck getting yours fixed and let us know how it goes.

Well, the smart people will just wait to buy an '06.*
I messed up and settled for a 'last year of the series' '04, and will have to take the major hit, when upgrading to a C6.
*'course they miss out a year's amount of new fun!

Are you sure you had it in reverse. I have found that sometimes it is easy to put it in 5th by mistake when not paying attention.
During the early C5 years, people were also having problems with dead batteries. Several reported that they found that the dashboard glove box light was not shutting off when the door was closed. Apparently the light was not connected to the circuit that shuts off 15 or 20 minutes after the car is shut down. You might try putting a glue on pad on the door that will ensure the switch is made and see if that makes a difference.
Interesting, I have an MN6 that was in the garage for six weeks until last week when the rain washed the salt away for a couple of days. Got in the machine and it fired right up. So, the battery issue isn't there on all C6's. I have about 1,400 miles on the car, 600 of those getting home from Bowling Green.
Of course I got away without doing anything to my steering column lock on my C5 for seven years... must just love living dangerously.

My mechanic said there was a dozen or so things it could be,he mentioned a tsb on faulty reverse shut off switches.I always make sure I'm in reverse and you can't open the door unless you do so its hard to screw up.It will be interesting to see what they come up with.

They've already fixed all known issues and we're only about halfway through year 1 production, so history isn't repeating itself. If it were, the first year problems would carry into year two, three, and beyond like they did on the C5: column lock, clutches sticking, mufflers falling off, etc. At the rate they are addressing the known (mostly minor) issues, they are certainly doing a lot better than they have in the past!

Baloney. Most of us have had no problems whatsoever, as polls taken on this website have shown. Regretably, there are some cars that have this battery problem, and that is just what happens. A car can be in its 5th year of production and have significant problems, because of supplier QC issues or other reasons. My C6 is the best built car I have ever owned and it has ZERO problems, and there are many of us having that great experience. Thank you GM for designing and building such a great car!

Just a thought! What if the reverse switch was connected to think that its in reverse all the time. Would the computer have a cross check to see if you were going forward when the reverse switch was hard wired to be on? This would mean you could leave it in any gear you want? Any thoughts?
I had the same issue with my battery as well and could not even get it to jump start. Check out thread NO FOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
05C6400 told you to put in the replacement. Lots of failures with Delcos. Even though mine is OK I have half a mind to change it just to be able to sleep better.
