My "little mid-life crisis" (i'm 52) has taken control of my better judgement and I have decided to start taking the steps to order my first Corvette. This forum has helped educate me a great deal about the process. I plan to shop the area dealers and the supporting dealers of this forum. My dream vette would be......Silver,base model coupe (1SX), 6 speed, black interior, and silver painted top. Nothing extra.....Just the base model. I like the museum option! After doing my homework I found out that only 5% of the Corvettes that will be produced this year will be the 1SX variety. My question is.....Do I even have a chance of getting an order filled requesting a 1SX this year? Most of the Corvettes that I have seen so far are very well loaded and I am not sure that GM wants to mess with the base models. Any ideas? I have always liked base models.....my 2003 F-150 has stick shift and hand-roll down windows.
Scan around the bigger dealers and see what they've got. Kerbeck has a big inventory. Don't know how many are base, but it's a good place to start. Other forum members have used some of the other biggies. Kerbeck did me good.
...if you are talking Museum delivery you can pretty much order it any place in the country.... I ordered mine @ 3K off MSRP
Send me a P/M .....I'll fill you in.........

I'm afraid that an ordered 1SX with museum delivery won't work anymore. I pretty sure I read that the 1SX package is cancelled for the rest of 2005. As you said, 1SX will be very low percentage of production. If you want 1SX, you will have to shop existing/incoming stock hard. If you want museum delivery, you'll have to spring for 1SA or 1SB. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
