Do you want the driver involvement of the manual transmission/clutch, or the convenience and simplicity of the automatic? Performance is similar, so all that matters is how you want to drive your car.
Jeez! give the guy a break, it's not like he's asking to date your daughter! All he is asking for is your opinion on what you prefer.
I for one sold an 03 BMW Z4 right after I bought the C6. The Z4 had a Manual Transmission and frankly I was tired of shifting in stop and go traffic, so I bought the Auto C6 with the 3:15 performance real axle and so far I do not have any regrets. The Z4 only had 184 HP and as we all know the C6 has 400 HP - I feel that I did not give up any performance with the auto, it is simply scary fast and a pleasure to drive!
If this helps-----
A dealer in Phoenix has 10 on his lot - 6 are auto.
One dealer in Mesa has 2 on the lot - both are auto.
sigh - and I am looking for a manual.
Good luck in your desision - you can't make a bad one.
I think that GM projections for the C6 were something like 75% would be sold with Automatics. The Auto's have been more popular when measured by gross numbers sold so that is why you will find more of them in dealers' stocks.
I had a 2001 C5 Auto. Personally always missed the feel of the manual.
My new C6 is the six speed and am enjoying the "sports car " experience the way I want it. Only 1 annoyance is The one to four shift that it calls for. Has anyone installed the 1-4 shift eliminator and does it affect your warranty?
I never owned an automatic my entire life until the two recent Mercedes I had. I realized I missed the sportiness of the manual. It's great that we have the option. With a Benz, anything with outrageous HP is an automatic.

Thanks
Gee, It seems we really have to beat the living hell out of the Auto vs Stick choice. How about going to one of the forum dealers in your area and driving a Stick and then a Auto equiped C6.
When I ordered my car, I drove a Z51 and non Z51 equipted car so that I could make up my mind.
I assume that most people made their own decision of A4 or MN6. I have an AR w/o performance axle. Car was on lot and after test drive did not think performance axle that big of deal since I want track the car. Yes a sports car should be a manual but some of us have to go for A4.
My wife was t-boned by one of the great drivers that can't read a STOP sign and her leg and knee were crushed. All steel leg now. Airports just love this. She is unable to use a clutch any length of time with her knee, so no choice but A4 unless she was not to drive the PR C6. Fat chance of me getting a C6 and she not being able to drive it.
I aged 5 years when she said I could buy the vette. Thats ok since the 2000 miles driving the vette this far makes me feel 25 again. Enjoy your car either way and make the decision that you want and the HE2L with the next guy's opinion. Driving a C6 is FUN! either way you go.
