I ordered a c6 last Saturday, Cpe, Mag Red etc. After reading postings on the forum I am worried. I called my dealer and asked if my order has been accepted by the factory. They have advised me that my order on the "restrictive list order". What ever that means. They have advised me that they do not have an allocation problem. But they said they could not guarantee I would get the exact order. I am 7 behind other "restrictive list order". Does anyone know what it means, and what do you think my chances of getting a c6.
I used a GMS discount and am wondering if this hurts my chances.
c6joe, maybe

well, i hate to tell you this.. but since Mag Red is constrained to 11%... AND the "build out" date for Mag Red was, well... yesterday (3/3/2005) ... i *seriously* doubt you're order will be accepted "as is".
that's a nice way of saying... no chance in hell.
not unless there's some kind of 'miracle' we haven't heard about?!

Yep ....... you are probably in for a long wait or maybe just cancel the order. The more orders that get canceled may help bring GM exec's to the realization that people don't want to compromise on a $60,000 car!!
hey, don't laugh. lol i was being sincere... and seriously NOT trying to be ugly. heck.. i feel for the guy. it sucks the bigone to end up in that position because some dimwit at a dealership doesn't know his butt from a hole in the ground. it's a shame when the average CF.com member knows more about allocations.. constraints.. build-out dates.. etc... than most dealership personnel. *shrugs*
good luck to the original poster in getting the car YOU want. check with the forum dealers, maybe they have one on a lot!

Thanks for trying to comfort me, I am wondering if the dealers will give the GMS discount on car on the lot. My savings to order was $8,000. Since my wife was going to buy this car for me for my 50th, I think the $8,000 may change her mind.

If you are stuck on the GMS discount get your dealer to honor your deal and move on to a different color. A different color is better than no C6 at all. I understand the new Monterey Red is similar.

Is there a site to see the new Monterey Red color? I went on Chevrolet site and do not see that color choice.

yup, GMS may be a deal breaker on an "on the lot" car.. especially one of the mag red or mil yellow colors that are now not able to be ordered. if i were you, i'd see if i could find one of the new monterey red cars that you can see *in person* and see how you feel about that color. i've heard it's pretty close. of course, "pretty close" to one person may be totally unacceptable to you.
