I might be interested in an exhaust system from Borla or Corsa. Just wondered what advantages there are with the 'x-pipe'. Not looking for more power, there's enough already.

Have the B&B Bullets with X-pipe and for my system it made the tone deeper, and slightly quieter also it took some of the popping sounds away when decelerating. Probably most importantly it removes a bunch of the resonance from entering inside the car through the floor. It also added a little more power to the rest of the exhaust system. I would imagine the X-pipe on those 2 systems would have the same effect.

I've got the Stingers and the X-pipe (dyno 353/344). Great sound. One thing I did find was when letting of the gas I didn't notice the "jerk". Seems the X-pipe / Stingers "mellowed" out throttle response. Still get immediate response when I hit the gas but don't get a "quick or jerk" when I let off.
I'm going for a less "throaty" and "poppin" sound, would the X-pipe be a good route to go? I like my exhaust to sound smooth and refined if at all possible, any suggestions?
Would the stock exhaust meet my requirements? And finally, is the X-pipe and any exhaust out there such as the corsa something I can install at home in the garage?
I've got the Corsa Sports with the factory H-pipe.
I LOVE it!!!
I was wondering if I might want the X-pipe, but after hearing it with the factory H-pipe, I'm totally satisfied with the setup. It really growls during hard acceleration, has a nice little burble (not a popping or cracking, just a nice "gurgle") during deceleration, and totally quiet (just like stock) during cruise at every speed.
I personally don't think I need the X-pipe.
I have not heard the Corsa Sports with the X-pipe. If it sounds a lot better or gives a measurable performance gain, I'd get it. But I like it with just the factory H-pipe.

The X pipe helps evacuate the exhaust better. Provides a smoother sound, less of a Putt – Putt sound.

Exactly!
I have the Bullets and had them with and without an X-pipe..and prefer it WITH! Less resonance and popping are the major differences!
I have a B&B X-Pipe from Nate@ The Corvette Garage.
how bad is the poping exactly? Is it anything like the viper compition coupe on deceleration. I'm sure it doesn't spew fire out of the exhaust like the viper but is the pop sound that loud?
Is there an X pipe for the C6? I see on the Corsa site they offer an X pipe for the C5 only, unless I missed it somehow. Looks like the sports are the way to go being less expensive, then you can always convert to tour easily. Seems like most of you guys feel the same way I do. There's a never ending thrill from a great sounding exhaust that this car lacks in stock form.

From reading other posts some people have used the B&B X-pipe with their corsas and were very satisfied with the results.
just put the stingers and x pipe on this weekend, 2 1/2 hrs...what a sound, almost as good as my bb 69, but in the words on my 13 yr old son when he heard it......sweet!
