8. Monochromatic paint option.

C6 already appears to have a monchromatic paint job?

After the two tone of SEMA I would like it as an option.

i've preached it a 1000 times here on the forum. 1001 won't hurt.

steering wheel controls.... and NOT necessariily JUST for audio. the Z71 suburban i drive when i'm not driving the C6 has controls for the audio system... onstar... and the DIC.

the ONE thing i hate, going from the sub to the vette... my thumbs automatically go to the wheel to adjust the radio... thumb through the DIC options... activate the cellphone... oops. wrong car.

steering wheel controls.

i don't wanna hear about how it's a "sports car" either. it's got XM, onstar, NAV... blah blah blah. steering wheel controls aren't going to to break the "sports car" image at this point.

I didn't see one, not even one performance oriented item on your list, what happened to "a little more horsepower/torque", "slightly tighter handling" or "stickier tires" etc?
Perhaps for '06 you'd also like them to add a little refrigerator to store some brie and champagne in as well?
Damn, maybe I'd better just stick to the tech and racing sections of this board LOL.
no, but maybe you could stick to the good natured spirit of the post?

seriously though... in all fairness to the original poster... everything (pretty much) he posted about was an "absolute". take my "want" for steering wheel controls... the car either has them... or it doesn't. period. same thing with the stuff the OP outlined. it's either there, or not. and, for the most part, doesn't require any sacrifices to be added.

on the other hand... "a little more horsepower/torque", "slightly tighter handling" or "stickier tires".. are NOT absolutes. what is a little more horsepower? 10hp? 50hp? same with tires, how much stickier? how many more tenth's lateral g's? each of those may be different to you.. than to me.

and, none of those are without compromise. if you want that 50 more hp, how much.. and of what.. are you willing to sacrifice to get it? same with tire life. stickier tires wear out faster. how much worse are you willing to allow NVH to deteriorate to get that tenth in lateral g's?

i'd love my C6 to be faster. corner better. but those things are hard to quantify. on the other hand, it's easy for me to ask for a better warranty or *cough* steering wheel controls *cough*.

Slotted seats that allow for harness provisions!!!

Can't believe the Z06 won't even have a good set of seats with this ability.

How about if they make it so the passenger wiper will lift up like the driver's wiper...

True, but some of the things on that list ALSO come with compromise.
Compromises in price, extra weight, complexity (ie: even MORE potential warranty issues) etc. To me, more weight and higher prices are HUGE compromises, therefore I am more than willing to do without those extras.
I also love Cadillac style and luxury but I still like fast sports cars even more, but that's just me.

1) Six speed auto preferably without any 1st yr bugs please (really test this thing prior to launch)

2) Less creaking and groaning

3) No ballooning from the vert tops at speed (I understand the 06 tops will have redesign)

4) No brake squeal from the Z51's

5) Some incentives from GM would be very nice

There are compromises for everything but the C6 Z51 ride is smoother that many people expected, if i recall is only 11% stiffer than the base C6.

The C6 Z51s suspension compliance could be a little tighter without approaching a teeth chatering ride quality......

I would like less on the car. Make power windows, power door locks, etc. and the rest of the crap they put on the car, options. Then you could have a real sports car, at a cheaper price.

I'd like a real front license plate holder, and no (or not much of a) price increase.

Engine options in the Coupe, Convertible - allowing the perspective buyer to 'design' their personal preference in engine size, HP, tourque, etc.

Also, options on the transmissions to go along with the engine that is desired by the purchaser - including 'paddle' tranny.

Come on GM, you allow this in many (includiing trucks) vehicles coming off the line in other plants.

So, why not the Corvette?

Violet,

I'm sorry, but I gotta' agree with Dave Hill on this one... It's a steering wheel, and your C6 is a performance machine, it's not a bus like that Suburban you drive... Why clutter things up...?

hehehe, you don't have to be sorry. i *know* my stance on steering wheel controls isn't well supported here in C6 Gen. LOL *shrugs* i also acknowledge the corvette "team's" stance that you pointed out... so i know i won't be getting 'em anytime soon. but hey, a girl can dream right?

oh, and ps - one more "bus" crack and i'm gonna push the 4Lo button and driiiiiive right up over your hood.

LOL LOL LOL LOL
