I drove from Palm Springs to Phoenix this past week-end. Hit alot of Bugs there and back.
I detailed {Zaino'd} my Black C6 yesterday and after using Bug Remover there were small chips on Front End. There wasn't any Sand blowing so the only thing it could be from is the Bugs.
Does that make sense?
I have a Black '99 Ford F150 I've driven since New on many long distance trips and I don't have any more chips in paint than the 'Vette. I haven't been anywhere as meticulous in the care either.
It's not the end of the World but I want to keep this Car in Show Condition.

Oh yes, believe it, i live in Florida, and we have bugs called Love Bugs here and these little ba$tards have acid for blood. If you don't wipe them off within 48 hours they will leave a permanent tiny hole where they died. In fact it is such a problem most dealers here have a line on their trade assessment that says "Love Bug damage?" These things are closely related to the things Ripley fought in those Alien movies, only much much smaller. So, yes insects can have one final vengence for our mass insect genocide machines.

I think hitting said bug at 100 mph+ may add to the potential damage. Just a thought.
On second thought, to be serious for a moment, I have similar marks on my front end after only 1,350 miles. I think the only way to avoid them on a car this low to the road is to:
A. Cover the front end with 3M film;
B. Not drive said car.
Since I don't like the film and can't stop driving the car, I'm going to wax it and take my chances. When this one wears out I think Chevy will have a new one ready for me.

You may want to consider a bra. I've got the same problem especially with night driving in the summer time. Next morning the car looks like it went through a war zone with all the blood and goo splashes on the nose and the windshield.
You've obviously never had a 16oz Texas grasshopper hit you beween the eyes at 75MPH while you were flying low down the road on you're Harley.....you would be wishing it had hit the paint.....

I bought a Speed Lingerie Bra to prevent getting pits in the front of my car. I knew I needed it after my first drive to the country. They are expensive but look great and fit really well.
