Recently I've been getting "Check oil level" in the DIC. Oil is good and pressure is good, the message goes away when I hit reset but comes on at random moments with no cause. Anyone have or hear of perhaps a sensor issue?

If you happen to have Onstar call them and let them run a diagnostic for you.

Default Sorry

I don't have Onstar, it's the only thing I left out.

Default Driving Too Fast

Quit taking corners at 90mph

Suspect a sensor alignment problem. It’s been reported prior. Dealer can fix

Default Thanks

Just wanted to be certain I wasn't the only one. Guess the dealer is in order. Maybe if I had a service manual I could handle it myself. Gotta get those things soon.

Speaking of the oil life...I have about 450 miles and it already says 94%...any idea at what stage it recommends a change? And how many miles that equates to or just it just depend on driving condiions? Trying to get a grasp on what magical percentage it takes to tell me that it's time for a oil change.

Mine started doing that at 500 miles. It was a defective sensor. Note, the diagnostic tree in the manual is *wrong*. If the tech follows it, he will replace your ECU instead of the sensor, and you'll still have the problem. Make sure he actually tests the sensor instead of just blindly following the procedure in the shop manual. GM tech support is aware of this error.

Default I will

I'll get the sensor checked, but those 90mph corners have to stay. I wish I could do them but the weather and roads are too cold to get traction on up here, a few weeks though and I'll be in the groove.

@450mi & 94%, I project you to chg @ 7,500mi
I don't know what they use in the program but eng rpm is a definite. I do lots of Interstate driving. I changed initially at 4,200mi and I was at 76% or so. I projected that I could do 12,000+ before I was at zero. I plan to chg when I’m at 30-40% in the future. Most members will recommend you change for the first time @ 1,000mi. Ran a poll and most intend to change @ 4,000-5,000 or 50%. I’ll go 7,000-9,000 between changes in the future.

Saw a post from a guy today who attributed his great Dyno results to switching to Non-Synthetic at 400 miles the going back to synth @ 4-5,000. He dynoed with 5 other C6s and pulled 15-20 more HP than the others. Hard to argue with that.
