Interesting article
When I first intended to buy an 06 C6 and joined the forum, I was suprised by the closed minds of many members. So continue to buy what ever the General puts out and for crying out loud don't look around....and be sure to "knock it before you tried it".
I was simply responding to that silly article that stated that a boxster was equal to a Corvette because of how it handled on windy roads, and some other subjective reasons. Much of the reason that the 911 is worth $20 more than the boxster lies in the performance differences which are close to the vette. In other words if the 911 is worth 20K more so too is the vette. I would have been curious to see the author of the article justify the price of the 911 without zeroing in on these performance differences.
I have driven the AMG Mercedes and the Porsche and they are neat little cars in traffic in the city. As someone said more like toys. But out on the road at high speeds with the wind blowing they require much more attention than the vette. A a fun car for the city the boxster and Honda S2000 are great, but for mountain driving or trips, especially if any luggage is needed, they leave much to be desired in comparison to a vette. Get whatever car suits your needs and enjoy it, but efforts to convince anyone that a boxster is superior to a vette suggest to me that you realize that the vette is the superior car.

Porsche makes a fantastic sports car and I really like their line of cars. If the prices weren't so high and their interiors so small, I might actually own one. I've driven Boxsters and a variety of 911s over the years. They do handle great and they are tons of fun to drive. They are arguably more nimble than any Corvette and certainly have much better steering. They're also mechanically finicky and don't accommodate drivers over 5'10" very comfortably. The Boxster is a neat little car and I always have fun in them for the hour or so before my right leg cramps up.
I love cars and have owned many foreign and domestic sedans and sports cars. The C6 is my choice because it offers exactly what I want...performance, style, power, and comfort in a hard top/open top configuration. It's not for everyone...it's obviously not for you. You can not look at a car "without bias", as you claim. Choosing a car is a very personal decision and almost totally subjective based on one's own perspective. If it were an objective process, we'd all own Toyota Camrys or Honda Accords.
So, your choice in what you buy is your own decison. Why you decided to share your conclusion that the C6 is not for you, on a C6 forum, is what I don't understand. This would have been much more appropriate on the Boxster board, where it should have been posted and would have been welcomed.
Congratulations on your purchase. The Boxster is a wonderful sports car and will give you great driving pleasure. Now I think I'll wander over to the Boxster board and tell them why I think the C6 is a better car...
