CD Player Question
I know the owner's manual says the CD player plays CD-Rs, but it is silent as to what is on those CD-Rs, other than MP3 files. Will it play CD-Rs/CD-RWs with Windows Media files burned on them?

That's it. They should be coded as audio CDs.

I have over 200 MP3 songs/disc. I think the limit is 250, if done right. They all play fine. You have a choice on the CD player's display: Song title, album or Artist name. It does not show a list of the songs. There is a way to group the songs in separate directories, but I haven't done that. You'd have to consult the manual. Mine come out alphabetically,(artist) as that's the easiest way when simply copying from my PC.
