Another First Timer!
I have been enjoying this forum for a while! This is the single best information source for Corvettes on the web!
Many people have shared the experience of purchasing their new vette so I thought I would join. I know that this story is repeated numerous times, but I really enjoyed reading the posts, they really have me pumped for today’s experience!
I have been planning on a purchase for a LONG time. I am closing on a sale of a piece of rental property today and the profits will NOT be reinvested, but spent on a dream! (You only live once!)
I have found the car I want on a dealer’s lot less than 100 miles from home. I gave the dealer a call yesterday to ask a few questions:
1)Do you honor the GM supplier discount? YES ($6k off MSRP)
2)Do you still have the car? YES
3)How many miles have you put on it? PUT GAS IN AND PARKED IN SHOWROOM!
I will see you TOMORROW!
So I am waiting to confirm the money has been transferred to my account (out of state deal) and I am heading over around 12!
I could not sleep last night!
The good lord gave us a beautiful spring day today after a nasty snow/rain day yesterday! I would say it’s perfect! My other toy is a 91 GMC Syclone. It has been lonely in the garage next to the wife’s SUV. I know that he will enjoy having another GM performance family member to share those long winters with!
I will continue the posts when I return home this evening (If I come home)!
How will I make it 500 miles!

safe.
You won't sleep well for the next few days. Keep getting up and going to look
I called the dealer and the Owner picked up the line, he says he is putting it on hold (whatever that is worth).
I am so excited I can't sit down... I'm typing standin up
When I return I'll be a proud new papa of a Mag. Red/ Ebony, Z51, MXO, UE1, U2K
I would like more info on the Waterside event!! I'll show up with my temp. tags and really look like a rookie!
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
What an incredible machine! The deal was smooth. The dealership was great! All I wanted to do was get it out of the showroom and on the road!
When the sun hit the mag red paint as we backed it out of the showroom I knew I made the correct color choice.
I took it down and filled up with 93 octane (dealers card of course). It had 2 miles on the odometer when I began! My first impressions after 107 miles (only 393 to go)!
I admit this is my first $50k car so I might be easy to impress.
I am in awe of this thing.
Great feel and solid ride!
The Z51 does not ride bad at all (only bad roads) Its a sports car not a Caddy!
Power - its there I just can't use it yet!
( I will take the Syclone for a ride to get it out of my system)The stereo is GREAT. I think you just need to adjust the sound to your taste.
HUD - too cool! How many g's can u pull!!
Exhaust
- I think that GM execs bought a boat load of Corsa, BB & Borla stock. They new that every red-blooded american Corvette owner would be ashamed to rev a 400 HP motor up with that set of mufflers. ( New mufflers WILL be installed before 500 miles!)I can not stop smilin'. This thing is the shiznit!!!
I am going to sleep in the garage tonight,
I don't want her to get lonely!I took a pic when I got home, it was not that good, but I was in a hurrry to get back on the road. I'll try to post it.
