Thought I would ask if anybody else has had a problem with their driver's door not unlocking electrically? Today I went by the local Chevy dealership to look at the accessories they had in stock, went back out to the car and couldn't get the drivers door to unlock. I ended up releasing it mechanically. Luckily the dealer was able to troubleshoot the problem today, and ordered a door lock actuator for it. I hope it will be in later in the week. |toungecool|
Laurie,
If you heard a click, it's probably not the actuator. I'd spray a boat load of silicone spray in there to loosen up the mechanism.
Your admiring Fan, :o

The dealer dianosed it as a bad lock actuator. The mechanic actually removed the mechanism and determined it was the lock actuator that was defective and not allowing the lock to be released eletronically. BTW...I am not Laurie!

My '06 door locks were doing the same thing. I bought two new ones at the local chevy dealership for about $10 each and installed them myself. Extremely easy to do and each one takes about five minutes. They work perfectly now. Just put a cord on the wire that leads down into the door after you undo the latch so it won't fall down into the door.jj
Apparently you can take the old ones apart and clean them and they'll work fine. It would take longer to do it that way.
You start by posting a new thread, not reviving a 6 year old one, or a 2 month old one. Both of these threads you posted in will probably be locked. It's too confusing for those who respond, if anyone does.
