We got bit...

oh well, teh joys of Vette ownership.
Looks like it's off to the autoparts store for a Red Top.
ah well, c'est la vie, right? we had to do it with our C5, and now the tradition continues. lol lol lol lol
happy monday morning to you to!

at first i thought i didn't have the fob in my purse.after realizing that, in fact, it WAS in there.... it hit me what was going on.

anyway, i needed to get here, so i just drove the other car. guess stephen will look at it closer later today. we'll see what he finds.

I can't remember when any new car I or my wife has had that left us stranded - since 1992, 1 Lumina (worse purchasing decision in my entire life), 3 Camaros, 2 Cavaliers, and 1 Trailblazer. All had some issues, 2 Camaros had the infamouns LT1 oil leak, TB has had 4 recalls for electrical issues, Cavalier had recall for the entire steering rack and system; yet, none of these cars have ever left either of us stranded.
I know I'll probably get a new C6 this year sometime, just hate to think that I could be spending $50000 on a car that isn't as reliable as my Camaro or worse, not even as reliable as my wife's Cavaliers (that just doesn't seem right to me).

open coil
Relay would never close, you would lose that relay's function - no battery drain
shorted coil
Relay would never close, possible blown fuse, would lose that's relay's function - no battery drain
open main circuit
Relay would close, but you would lose that relay's function - no battery drain
stuck relay
This is really the only way a relay would drain your battery, whatever that relay controlled would be on all the time. Your horn would be on, your washers, etc...
Finally, you could get a relay to cause a drawn if the relay was in the wrong place or if the options are incorrectly matched, which is what I think Mike was saying about relay 46.
And these posts wouldn't stop me from buying a new Corvette, just makes me hesitate a little bit. Makes you think, do you really want to give up a car that has been 100% reliable, is fun to drive, just to get a new car? Of course, the answer is yes, I get a new car every 3 or 4 years, whether I need one or not! And everything else about the new C6 looks great, just hate to hear stories like this, but it does happen with new cars of all kinds.
