Has anyone added speakers / subs / amps to the stereo with the navigation unit? Speakers seem easy to swap, but how would you add an amp? Do you run the speaker wire into the amp, then back to the speaker? Same question regarding the sub.
Finally, what kind of audio upgrades have people done for a vert? Any subs added?

I had a car audio shop do the work. The subs aren't seamlessly built into the interior but to get the best sound, you have to go with a custom box. I also had to make sure that the removable top still fit perfectly behind the box.
I believe the technician said he wired directly into the head unit for the amp but I may not have it right. I was so excited to get in my car and listen to the new speakers that I wasn't paying attention to a lot of what the guy was telling me.
Hopefully, someone else will have an answer for you.
Do you know how the got the line into the amp? Did they pull off the existing speaker wire or from the head unit?
Im doing an install for a vette owner here in jersey, and Im using a stinger line converter to convert the signal. Im installing a rf T10001 Amp and RF Punch Subs, the box is custom built to allow for the roof to fit in when the customer has it off! I have a few Corvette C6 Goodies on the box, it looks pretty cool.

So a line converter allows you to take speaker wire and convert it into an RCA type wire that plugs into the amp? Do you need one for each set (e.g. front and rear) or can you send one into a single four channel amp?

Im running it off the two rear speakers in the pillar. It has left and right channel inputs. Do you want me to post pics of what Im doing over here?

Not sure if this makes any difference to your installation or not, but I just learned on another forum that the (1SB Nav) rear speakers in the pillar are wired in parallel, they don't have separate L&R channels and are not effected by the balance control. It's easy enough to test, turn fader full rear and adjust balance. The Subs in the door aren't controlled by the fader so be sure to turn bass all the way down before you test. Bose , what were they thinking.

I have the nav and did the upgrade. I used JL audio amp which allows for hi level input via RCA which was spliced onto the door woofer but at the bose amp under passenger floorboard. Also JL audio does not need remote on as it has signal sensing. For a sub i went simple by using a dual voice coil 10"bazooka. Changed the front 3.5s to boston FX3's and left the rears for now. Everything is stock powered except the Sub.
