I've noticed that "Destination Addresses" that I've put in come back as not available even though these addresses have been there for years. Does GM have a plan for periodically updating the DVD's to include newer (last five years) developments and streets?
Other people had this problem and you might have the NAV System set up in the wrong region. Supposedly if it is programed for the right region it will find the addresses. I am sure someone else can comment on this.
Just as a data point, my Jag nav doesn't have an update DVD available two years after I got it. Still thinks I drive through an open field every day, even though the road's been there since before my car was built.
Yep, make sure you have chosen the region for the address and it should work. I say should because I have ran into a couple of long standing phone numbers that do not work and the region is correct.
I have the same problem with my 2 Garmin units. I like at the end of a street but it shows my house at the other end. I talked to Garmin about this and was told that the company that creates the databases is in Ireland, and that an update comes out about once a year. When the update came out it still has the house wrong. I notice that it is the same on the vette.

Are you using the basemaps or something like roads & rec in your Garmins? Mine, using the roads and rec cd even shows dirt roads with no names! And, it's updated for free about once a year. Anybody wanna bet that when GM comes out with an update, there will be a subscription charge? Although the Vette system is nice it needs ongoing support from the vendor, at least once a year.
I updated the base maps in both the iQue and ColorMap III. The only changes I could see were to major streets in my area. I forgot to say in my earlier post that I contacted the company in Ireland by email and told them that my house was on the wrong end of street. I was told that they had to go by "official" street documents and could not change based on my input.
Try any nav/GPS system program - based upon the supplier/programmer/sponser -a POI may or may not be included. I've got four different systems - the C6, Microsoft, HP and Teletype - none of them are consistant with POIs or even streets which have existed for over 5 years. Its the software...not the hardware (C6 or my laptop) which is at fault. Blame the software provider for not updating - or really wanting the extra buck for a current map!
