Default tint and NAV

I had planned on tinting my windows this coming Thurs. Now after reading my NAV manual I see a blurb saying tint WILL interfere with NAV. Saw on the Faq post a black Vette with the tint, fantastic, and he had a picture of his NAV,,, I saw a red line across the GPS which I think means it was not working. Anyone done the tint with GPS and have it not interfere with the NAV?

I just ran out and checked on the nav given I just tinted it yesterday and it "knows" its at the home location so I dont think it will interfere once moving... I got the Pinnacle Ceramic Tint and XM and FM worked fine... havent tested AM or NAV while moving...but I dont expect problems

Mine's been tinted since September with zero Nav problems. Just avoid
any metallic tints.

Default There are Tints and TINTS

If you were to get a tint material with reflective properties it may interfere. The reflective coating may have metal particles. Metal would definitely affect anything inside the car i.e. significantly weaken the incoming signal.

5% on back and 35% on sides - Been on for about 5 weeks now. Took a trip from St. Louis to Columbia, MO and set the nav for the motel - didn't skip a beat.

I'm going to swing by tomorrow and get the specks on the tint and post, and research the tint. Encouraged to know tha others have tints with no problems. the GM NAV manual was discouraging at best.
