Default Active Handling/Traction System Problems/ See 'HORRIFYING CONCLUSION"

Last night getting off the highway, about 30/40 mph shifting from 2nd to 3rd while taking a 'little hard' left turn the Active Handling light came on. Went to 4th and the rear end started to 'buck', kind of like when your running out of gas. Down shifted, same problem, DIC came on said 'Service Traction System'. Push the control button, the yellow 'skidding car' symbol would not go off except in Competive Driving mode. The noise from the rear sounded a little like gears not meshing. That stopped soon but the bucking stayed for about a mile till I got home and the warning light stayed on.
Visions of the worst, bringing it to the dealer in the morning. Took off in the AM, starting driving it, no problem, tried to duplicate the turn, still no problem. Took it home and this evening just took a 10 mile drive trying to duplicate the problem. Did not come back.
Have a Z51 Coupe, 6sp with 700 miles on it. I went to search in the C6 tech and General section and FAQ. Nothing there.
Anyone else seen this or similar. I dread going to the dealer. Or just one of those things that will never happen again.....I Hope

Listen to your DIC....The problem went away, decided to take a trip from Denver to Phoenix, got 150 miles west of Albuquerque, into the middle of nowhere and the cruise control started to slip, traction control warning came on. Started to hesitate a little, but was still traveling at 80 mph, getting worse, called roadside assistance, GM was great, I was thinking of getting to Flagstaff, but they said no Corvette mechanic there, they sent me to Prescott Az, the nearest Corvette Chevy dealer with a mechanic. The Vette was running ok, but 10 miles from the dealer things got bad, kind of like running out of gas and bucking the clutch. Got 1/2 mile from the dealer and that was it, totally broke down could not move.... what to do?
Called the dealer, told him my concerns about a towtruck, they would send the best truck, they did. It took him 30 minutes to get the Vette on, he had towed a # of C6's before. It is devestating to be on a major highway, with my wife, broke down in a new Vette. My fault????....probably. Should have took it in to the dealer when the problem first came, but it went away?? Everytime you get a warning bring it to the dealer? Oh well.
Lamb Chevrolet in Prescott is the best, great service, nice people. Gave me a brand new Caddy as a loaner, went down to Phoenix, called me the next day, bad sensor, they checked the car out completly, washed it ready to go. Drove straight back to Denver, 900 miles, all is well. My 4th Vette, never a problem, but why in the middle of a desert?

Yikes! That doesn't sound healthy. Mine's an A4 so I have different problems. Just can't accelerate out of hard turns. I hope you figure it out.
