I am just trying to determine if the maximum vol on my system is within the norm if possible. I find that I cannot make the system loud enough to my tastes at times. The system cannot be driven to distortion. The volume reaches maximum and then the dial continues to turn but the volume stays the same. This sound similar to others?
Replace all factory garbage systems with something real..A little something is needed for all cars to some degree..My degree is sitting at about 2300 watts right now.

Is it just me, or is the stock C6 stereo not as loud as the C5? It just isn't loud enough. I can't seem to tune the treble/bass/mids to my liking......no bass hits, poor clarity, etc. I love the car but the stereo is VERY dissapointing to me -- and I am NOT an audiophile to begin with.
I am starting to investigate a site called www.logjamelectronics.com they carry stereo adaptors, interfaces, amps, cd changers. Also interesting is the links that supply them (on the right side of the home page). There are all sorts of things that are made to be plugged into the factory harnesses. I found a couple of things for the C6. Maybe with a bit of investigation we can find a good amp for our systems and finally be rid of the Bose crap all together. (except for the emblems on the doors).
XM Radio, from a fidelity standpoint, sucks. At times, it sounds like an old cassette tape, flanging in and out.
FM is adequate.
I think the CD sounds great. It is plenty loud for my tastes. I just discovered Corrosion of Comformity (if you like Vvntage Black Sabbath, you'll like these COC) and it absolute rocks in my NAV Bose system. Maybe it just sound good with the kind of music I like and poor shape my aging ears are in.
I know that a lot of people complain about the system, but I find that the fidelity and loudness of CD's is just fine with me.
Before my C6, I had a Lexus with one of the new Mark Levinson sound systems and yes, the fidelity was a bit better, but the Bose system handles the hard music I like much better and lot louder.
