Just about any aftermarket accessory store, including several supporting retailers.

Following the CAGS installation the skip shift light may still come on, this shouldn't cause any problems. Actually it makes me feel good when I see the light knowing a computer isn't forcing me to shift into a gear I don't want!

Honesty before I got my C6 I read all the post about needing to get the CAGS eliminator. The reality is unless you drive you 6sp like a baby you DO NOT NEED it. I generally shift around 3K - 3.5K anyway regardless of traffic or no traffic, 1000K now and maybe I have seen the light 5 times and just held the gear for a second and it gone. It's a cheap and easy solution, you should drive it first and see if you need it. I did buy it and don't need it.

Plan on installing the CAGS eliminator this w/e. The ability to choose what gear I want is important. Honestly though it only comes into play with slow takeoff in traffic for me.

As gas nears $3.00 a gallon sometimes I don't need to hit 3,000 rpms to shift. Guess gas is still a bargin in NY?

I could drive around it, but why should I have to?

CAGS got me like 20 times the first day I got my car. It's annoying as hell when it happens. Of course I already had the eliminator at home and installed it that first weekend (easiest mod ever). I rarely see the light come on anymore, but when it does, I'm glad it doesn't matter. Order an eliminator, plug it in, and forget CAGS ever existed.

In effect, you are given 3 choices; A) pay a gas guzzler tax, B) use CAGS, or C) don't buy a car this powerful.

Given that C) does not fly if you want to drive a C6;

Given choice B) you can buy a CAGS defeater for $25 or go to radio crap and do the same job for $0.39.

Compaing $25 or $0.39 and ten minutes of work to around $1000+ for a gas guzzler tax, which way would you want GM to deliver the car to you?
