Is GM using this color on any other vehicle at the present time? If not, any thoughts on what shade/tint of silver or grey it will be?
The name "titanium" is a marketing angle, so don't expect it to have any resemblance to the color of the metal that fostered the name.
It will be like a gray because "steel gray" is disappearing as an interior color option, but the steel gray convertible top will carry over (maybe they have some back-ordered from 2005 ). Four interior colors will be available; red, ebony, cashmere, and titanium. A "titanium" convertible top will also be available, making four convertible top colors also available; steel gray, titanium, black, and beige.
I am hoping "titanium" will be a dark gray that will go well with the new Monterey Red, and that Monterey Red will work better with the lines of the car than current reds. Monterey Red will be dark, almost a maroon...maroon or dark red with dark gray is a classic combination.
Having owned five titanium road bicycles, I can tell you that Corvettes used to come in titanium...but they called it Light Pewter Metallic. It was virtually the same color as raw titanium. Look at the frame of this bike...

Gad!...I hope not for the interior. I thought Corvette gave up metallic interior colors in the 80s...remember the 82 Collector Edition?
Hot or not, a shiny metallic "titanium" interior would definitely put me back in the ebony camp.

on both points: NO shiny metallic interior leather and dark red with dark grey would look nice. However, I thought it might be close to the pewter...having a little taupe in the grey.

taupe\n[F, lit.,mole,fr. I. talpa]: brownish gray.
Wife says it's a greenish(?) beige!!?? Hmmmm...thinking here. Maybe something like the Medium Dark Pewter (6982) shown on this link for 1997-2002 Buicks, Chevys, Pontiacs? Yeah, I could go for that...that'll work with Monterey Red. http://www.leatherrenew.com/automobi...r%20chart.html
Note that Ford Lincoln Mercury had a "titanium" (6319) in 1988-1992...it's like a medium gray. It's actually not far from the 2005 Corvette steel gray interior, but since Corvette is keeping the steel gray convertible top and adding the titanium convertible top, the two colors have to be distinctly different. FLM's "truffle" (7111) is closer to what I would like to see...the color is great; the name sucks. Dave Hill would have to rename it something, er, strong, mysterious, like..."titanium".

I'm with you again, that's a nice color for top or interior...which brings up the next issue. It's my understanding we'll be able to see Monterey Red on a 2005, but not Titanium...makes it hard to see that combination in person before ordering a 2006.
