I called a local dealer because i want to order a VR C6,but have not seen the color live. BTW the chevy website states this dealer has several VRs, they only have one in a warehouse not able to be seen unless he brings it from there. I do not want him to go through the trouble since i want to order from a Forum dealer, Kerbeck, hopefully, If Dave calls me back.. I would order the car to get the options i want. He basically says not going to happen...they have to retool for the 2006 model yr and no way could i do this. (I somewhat understand the allocation process, thanks to the forum). But his goal was to sell me a car that was coming in. He was saying i could basically hold the car by putting a deposit down. He said that would be the right thing to do since spring is coming around and every one they get in sells right away. I thanked him for his time and said i wasnt interested in doing that at the moment. I know he is just doing his job so no hard feelings..but sometimes they just get too pushy.
On the other hand are there any VR coupes in NYC? Want to see if the color is for me. thanks
As an aside, if the incoming car is what you want, and if the dealer will accept the idea of a refundable deposit, you have little to lose (other than time). I've done this before with a Porsche 911 that was on a boat to Houston (I was in CO at the time). As it turned out, I hated the color, so got my deposit back. If they really 'sell every one' they won't have any proble returning your deposit, will they?
