Default Electrical Problem Draining Battery

Good Evening Everyone,

I'm having a problem with my C6 that the battery completely drained on me after 3 days of not being driven. After charging the battery with a battery tender plus I'm starting to hear something running in my dash, almost the sound of a clock ticking. The car is a 6 speed, and yes I did properly parked in reverse with the emergency brake engaged. Any ideas?

i had the same problem except it was dead after two days of not being driven. I wondering if it wasn't fully in reverse. I wonder where the "cut off" sensor is located in the reverse gate. Did you put it in reverse then actually back up just a tad or did you just put it in reverse and get out ?

i've noticed sometimes it dosen't go fully into reverse, it slids into the gate but won't go fully into position.

I've begun to do the put into reverse, roll it back just a tad and haven't had any more problems, thus far.

Sounds like it's time to see your local chevy dealer. Something is obviously not turning off. Keep it on the charger between drives until you get it looked at.

Good Luck.

If there is a problem with the electrical system in the car, have a dealer repair it. Don't cover it up with this device. This device is not designed to fix the problem, it is designed to prevent a battery from draining due to loads such as cell phones, GPS units left on when the car is turned off.
An electrical problem in the car can cause more damage than just a dead battery.
I considered installing something like this in my Jeep, due to the fact I travel miles from civilization in the desert, and have two GPS units running in the Jeep, along with an electric cooler, CB; not because of an electrical problem in the Jeep.

It's your car, but an electrical problem can grow.

Make sure you use the proper procedure for shutdown.
With the engine still running put the car in reverse then shut down.
If you shut down then put the car in reverse some computer functions may still remain on and drain the battery.Got that information from my dealer tech who called the chevy tech dept. and faxed him the procedure which he showed to me.I was having a similar problem ( dead battery after 2-3 days) since I've been doing the "turn Off" procedure I haven't had a problem.Went away for a week and she started right up.

I've shut my C6 off without it being in reverse first let it sit 2 to 3 weeks before starting it again with no battery problem.
