A great looking setup. GM is to be commended on this one. Wonder if this will be an option or standard on the auto? If so, how much extra. I have been waiting patiently to order the 2006 and will do it as soon as ordering is available (probably late July). This really wets my appetitite.
Am I the only one that doesn't care for paddle shifters? I definetly would not buy that setup first year out. I expect it to be a 2007 option.I don't know jack, however......
Ok I'm ignorant, what the hell is a paddle shifter?
They are small paddles, levers, or even buttons on the steering wheel that allow you to shift the gears in an automatic transmission. Many cars such as Audi, Porsche, BMW, even Acura have this in their sports cars.
That new steering wheel looks like a BMW wheel. I like it, though I don't know if the paddles look like they are in a comfortable spot to use them. It's going to require a bit of a reach with your thumbs from the way the pictures look.

On the paddles, do you beleive these paddles are thumb operated?
Recall the Pontiac with a similar design, yet the buttons where difficult to reach requiring a puch forward on the right to upshift and and a push left for downshift.
Any scope if these are acually two way paddles or are they just one way buttons? (I hope I am describing my question clearly)
