Anyone know anything about a NAV update disc for the C6? I am surprised regularly that it doesn't have information on addresses or POI that have been in place for at least 12-24 months. The disc just says 'version 1'.
Once a year, apprx. it will be updated. Look in the DVD case that the NAV DVD came in, should be some info there. New DVD's can be bought from your dealer. That's about all I know about it..
Don't know specifically for GM, but with other vehicles and sources they said it could take 18 months to 2 years to get changes into a distributed map DVD. People or other sources have to report changes, then it all get verified and set for production, they have certain cut off dates that all get gathered and then production and shipping. I have friend who owns a restaurant and he was trying to get his listed and it took over a year and they told him he was done quickly.
I bought a Lexus in 2004 with the Nav and they replaced/upgraded the DVD free when I took it in for the first 5k free oil change. Same dealer - Stevinson Chevy and Stevinson Lexus next door - $38k Lexus versus $60 Vert. GM certainly isn't Lexus and their declining market demostrates it. Anyone ever get a loner when they have the Vette serviced. It's standard on my cheap car. I think this deserves a new thread.

A couple times a week I am going to my niece's High School softball games and I've got to say that ol' Rhonda is easily getting me to each school, no muss no fuss. One of the high schools is only two years old and darn if she didn't get me to the front door. As a guy who usually can get lost in a box, I've got to tell you this NAV is just terrific. I find it much more accurate than MAPQUEST. Money well spent for me--Ed
According to a recent post quoting someone from the NAV manufacturer, a new, updated disc will be available sometime this summer. No specific date was given, nor a price, but we were advised to contact our dealers for further info. Wow, that makes me feel a lot better!
GM sells the DVD navigation disk of other vehicles for over $300 MSRP. Discounted it still runs just a tad over $200. Ebay for just under $200, although I have bought one for just over $100 for my H2.
