I dont know whether you also have experienced the same thing like me: Everytime I drive my C6 Vert, some jerk with an Van or similar boring stuff is driving behing me very close even though I drive the maximum speed allowed. They sometimes even tend to give me the highbeams what upset me everytime.
I also drive a Volkswagen Golf R32 Turbo where I never exeperienced the same thing.
I could understand it if of porsche or something similar would challenge me, but its just that those idiots want to make me feel uncomfortable.

Happens to me more in the C6 than C5 ... even the T/A. If they persist I make it obvious through the looking at them in the mirrors that it is irritating me - then move so I can see thier plate, pick up the phone and point to them ... 99/100 they understand what I will do and back off ... if they don't I call the state police and report them for aggressive driving .... they actually did pull over one guy that kept backing off and then driving right up to my bumper ...

I used to get real aggressive back at them, but that will only lead to bad things ... like the time one guy reported I pointed a pistol at him - which I didn't but when they came to my house and found out I had a carry permit it turned the situation into a difficult one ....
This is one of the reasons I traded my PR 6-spd in on the silver auto. One street in my town that I travel a lot has a traffic light at the top of a rather steep hill. About 3/4 of the time that I would have to stop for that traffic light, some dipstick would pull up right on my rear bumper. Sure made me uncomfortable taking off when the light turned green with someone that close.
maybe I put a sticker on it like "when you can read that you are too close jerk", but than again that might be a little too much
A lot of drivers here will tailgate you when traffic is moving at 35-40 MPH and several of our main streets have 2 lanes in each direction plus a turn lane.
You used to be able to buy a bumper sticker YEARS ago that read, "If you can read this, you're too d*** close", except that it spelled out the missing word. Unfortunately, I'd never put a bumper sticker on my vette, even if I had one.
Yes, it happens to me too, someone on here recently named it the "Vette Effect" I am inclined to believe that there is validity to this theory.
Yep...good name, "Vette Effect". I first noticed it in my C4...forty-something housewives always wanted to race me in their freakin' Expeditions. Heh, heh...I usually gave them a quick lesson in the difference between a big hunkin' SUV and a high-performance sports car. Each vehicle had a natural environment, and I was closer to mine than they were to theirs.

Yep. Mostly males in thier 20s, in (1) hondas (with or without "spoilers"), (2) POS banged up, used BMWs, and (truckls).
Had a Toyota Tundra rev its engine at me at a light, POS BMW tailgate so close all I could see was from the guy's dash to his forehead, and a honda go sreaming by weaving in and out of heavy traffic.

Next time i will pull over and make them
I can understand, some ppl are just crazi in general, even if its a descent car and they have junky car they will do the same..anyhow..i would say, increase speed and smoke that guy for sometime...as it is who drives at speed limit anyways..5-7 miles over is pretty normal atleast in chicago on suburban roads and 15-20 miles over on highways..so if you find some one like this just goto the next lane or speed a little..it wouldnt take more than 2-3 secs of speeding for you to get away from him..
I had a bad experience with some scumbag about a week ago.
On my way to work at 7:30 am, some gangbanger in a newer Impala came up on my rear end at high speed and braked at the last minute, as if he was going to run into me. He repeated this about 5 times. Traffic was heavy and I couldn't really go anywhere because I had a median next me and I was in the fast lane. I looked up in the mirror and he flipped me off (I had done absolute nothing to this jerk) and took a drink out of his quart of beer.
Nice huh?
At this point, he managed to pull in the lane next to me and start challenging me. I was worried something bad was going to happen so I got my carry gun out of my glove compartment below his line of sight (I still live in a relatively free state), chambered a round and held it down in the seat next to me. I didn't brandish it or anything stupid, I was just prepared in case he decided to try to carjack me at the next light. It's the first time I've ever had to get my gun out thinking I might be forced to defend myself and it scared the **** out of me.
Thankfully, he started doing the same thing to someone else and left me alone.
I managed to get behind him and called 911 and gave them his plates and directions. I bet he was driving a stolen car and he definately didn't belong in the neighborhood I was driving through.
The world is full of scum. I'm just glad I have an Auto tranny which allows me to multitask if necessary.

Are you following the traffic rule which says "keep right except to pass"?

I was wondering this as well. I hate it when every lane of a freeway with light traffic is blocked by a couple of people going exactly 70 side by side. Talk about inconsiderate. Its like they think their time is more valuable than anyone elses and we should all march to the beat of their drum. The law in my state is that slower traffic must keep right and it is illegal to hold up more than 5 vehicles. Not that I have ever heard of anyone getting a ticket for that...
