I was bit by the failure to put in reverse. Even though I still have the dang tag attached to my shifter, unfortunately it was in 5th and not reverse. So the battery was dead. I jumped the vette. It started after about 10mins, no problem. Now, my windows are not indexing and the hatch will not fully close. The car starts fine. Is there something that needs to be reset? Anybody experience similar problems after dead battery? Do I need to buy a new battery and if so recommendations?
It is normal for the windows to need reindexing after a dead battery. Very simple to do. Roll the window all the way down and hold the switch in the down position for three seconds after the window bottoms out, then roll the window all the way up and again hold the button for three seconds in the up position after the window is all the way up and your done.
Don't know about resetting the hatch. Re-index the windows by raising the window all the way to the top and hold the switch an extra 3 seconds. Release the switch. Hold the switch in the up position again for 3 seconds. All done. Will need to do both windows that way.
BTW, the book doesn't say anything about holding the switch in the down position.
Ok, great that worked. Door closed mind you. Didn't work with door open. Hatch is closing now as well both with car running and after it was turned off. Thanks for the assist.
