Why would this answer his question? Looks like an 2005. He is asking about the 2006. Am I missing something?

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

My opinion is NO, it won't change. Light carpets are hard to keep clean and soon begin to look scrungy if not maintained meticulously. Many owners will not invest the time, resulting in a bad appearance reputation for Corvette.
Modern cars must have a lot of dark color in the dash and dash pad to improve visibility; to match the dash, designers continue the dark color (ebony) around to the upper door trim. You essentially end up with an ebony interior with color accents (seat covers, door panel inserts, etc.). I'm surprised the Cashmere even has the same color carpets.
BTW, your question is a little confusing at first to those that are paying attention to the "boot-legged" info we are able to get on 2006s. The 2005 interior is not officially acknowledged by GM as "two-tone", even though the red and gray are in fact. But, for 2006, the Z06 will have true two-color seat covers available.
