That's right. If we don't bend him over, we have to give everyone else a free pass. Hell, where's the fun in that ???

Oh, and back on topic.....as alluded to in one of the replies here: one member posted that he was at the birthday bash and in speaking w/ some GM Engineers, he mentioned the squealing brakes on his Z51 C6. They had him meet them at the factory the next day and they put on some different pads, that according to this guy, were now being installed on new Z51's on the line. We need to find out the part numbers for those pads. I have a feeling they are NOT the $330 ceramic pads.

Yeah, you're right. We've got to have some fun some how on this forum!!!

Plus, I think Au n Egl can probably handle it.

Anyway, if anybody wants to change pads and doesn't know how to do it, I just posted a how-to DIY in the Tech Section under a thread called "ceramic break (sic) pads". Click here to see it:

I guess I'm just lucky so far. I have a Z51 w/3500 miles in two months. I do get a lot of black dust, will not come off with power wash, have to hand wash them a lot. Maybe it helps but I have not heard one squeek yet. But I read all post to get ready if I start getting the 'squeak'.
I see your fustration, and I surely would not like the squeak in my Vette. I have not read one post that actually addressed the proper solution yet. If someone actually had the squeak and changed the pads and that was the 'fix' would like to hear. Probably a lot of us would like to hear.

I appreciate everyone's opinion on the brake squeaking problrm, but as I stated in the original topic and as "Need for Speed" has stated. Is there anyone out there with connections at the plant that can tell me what the new part numbers for the brake pads now being place on the Z51 are. If I have these new part numbers, my dealer said he will fight to get mine replaced. I do not want to take money out of my pocket and put it into new pads on a new car. So once again. Is there anyone with BG plant connections that can help me out with my inquiry. Thank you.
