I just hit 2300 miles on the odometer and the check engine light has come on. I checked the gas cap and its on nice and tight. What could be the problem?
Did you just get gas when you noticed the error indicator? That happened to me and i reseated the gas cap. It took some time, but the light went away after some driving.
I believe the car warns you when the gas cap isn't on correctly. I noticed when i shut my door after getting gas, the car will honk twice. I also see the service fuel system message displayed right after starting up after fill up.
If it wasn't during a gas fill up, then i'm not sure.
It might be your Fuel Sender Card. There are a couple of other threads in regard to this problem. We are all waiting on the new cards to get to the dealers. Check out those threads.
Yea could be the gas cap or the fuel sender or something else :-) - if ya have onstar have them diagnose it for you - if your fuel gauge is going nuts (goes to zero for a while then comes back) its the fuel sender card - owners manual stated driving it in this condition for extended periods of time could void warranty so if you cant get onstar to diagnose it have the local dealer do it for you
