The ZO6 have a fixed roof, coupes have removable tops and the convertible, well you know the answer to that one.

The Z06 is at its best on the track not cruizing down hw 1 - thats what the coupe and ragtop are for

But seriously the decision was actually based on sound reasoning: The Z06 primary goal was to enhance performance and a hard top gives you a stiffer body and better drag coefficient not to mention safety

01-04 Z06s are not C6s. They're C5s. This is the C6 section. Duh.

Default Duuuh is right

.....But this is a good question nonetheless. At the last autocross I noticed another C6 driver with the top off, his head with helmet on was way above the roofline. So a 6foot plus guy (I am only 5 -5) jumped into mine with the roof on and tried to put on a helmet. He had driven the C5 Z06 with helmet with no problem - but in the C6 with the top on...no way, even with the seat all the way back and down.

Taller drivers beware...helmet clearance problems in the C6.

First, I will admit I have not driven either my C5 or m C6 with a helmet, but I have CONSIDERABLY more headroom in the C6.

I am 6'4"...probably the tallest guy that can fit into, and drive a manual corvette on a daily basis.

With the B pillar moved back, my head is under the sun shade not the b pillar. If I wore a baseball cap in my c5, the little "button" on top of the ball cap would graze the ceiling...joys of being tall, and a life long fan of the vette.

Now, I actually have a little more leg room and head room. I am very happy with the improved space in the new C6.
