You may wish to consider also the mirror mount from great lakes - be aware some folks have had trouble getting it to stay stuck to the back of the mirror ...

Any pics would be appreicated

i chose zip-ties, because they hold tight, and won't wiggle free. make sure that the thing ends up being about 8 inches long (
)P.S. could've bought the setup, but I enjoy making my own rigs to get things to work....call it Southern Igenuity!

Inside view (it's level, my picture isn't):

I made a little bracket in the garage - with a piece of scrap sheet steel and a visor bracket. I bent the sides so it would slide over the OnStar antenna:

Here's the bracket in place before the radar detector is slid in. I painted it with black crinkle paint.

You'll notice a little angle on the slide for the radar detector. A cop told me once that it should not be mounted straight ahead, but a little to the left - that way it would get both what's in front of me, and what's coming the other way on a split highway like an interstate.
I don't care for wiring directly into the mirror as I think it could cause future problems. I got the extension wire kit and an "Add a Fuse" kit from Auto Zone. Ran the wire under the windshield trim, down the side, under the dash, and over to the fuse box under the passenger floorboard. I used the cruise control fuse location, since it is switched with the ignition.

And finally pushed the extra wire over the top of the fuse, just laying it in there:

I like this install because I can take it completely out at any time, and I can remove the radar detector or bracket in seconds if I want. I can still put the passenger visor all the way down. I don't care for the mount below the mirror because I don't want my vision split in the middle any more than it already is. The OnStar Antenna can easily hold the weight (I haven't had any problems so far) and it doesn't interfere with OnStar working properly.
This was pretty easy, other than fabricating the bracket - but that was just back and forth making measurements and bending it right.
Gregg.
I have the install from teambiker also, on my C6, and also a Lexus SUV. Neat, easy, clearcut install that works great.
