Yes I am probably crazy for asking this but here goes. I live in Minnesota and want to drive my car year round. Can they be driven in the snow?
Yes, they can be driven in snow, but not far and not for long.
I drove over Vail pass last weekend in the snow. Not a pleasant journey. 400 HP and loads of torque relegates you to slow and cautious in the snow. The snow and the mag chloride and the road dirt do not help the Zaino treatments either.
Save it for the nice 2 or 3 days you have in Minnnesota..................
Just get some chains.......if that is not an option, buy some studded tires.....just be careful not to burn the studs off when you take off.....
In the owners manual- no chains- can do body damage. Studs illegal in lots of states. Doubtful if anyone makes studded tires in Vette sizes.
I've driven a C5 in just about anything you can name. Was on a 2000 mile early spring trip and the crap happened. Would not recommend going out in it on purpose to anyone.
Had to layover 2 days at Brenner Pass. Chains required to travel. 3 days in CO. 8 inches of snow. Ice storm in TX. Sand storm in NM.
Car handled it all. But it's white knuckles for sure.
