Default Borla Workmanship

3 days now. No interstate driving. Love em. Deep and not too loud. Yes, a Fine Burble on decel. Deep at idle. Wails at WOT. I am very pleased. Make me smile more while driving.

I ordered Quad Oval tips and received 2 Huge Oval tips. Don’t mind that so much. In fact, it’s grown on me – I like it. But the tips are not aligned with one another. My guess is that Borla added a shift to keep up with demand and a cockeyed newbie put mine together. The tips, while nicely polished, appear cheap on closer examination. I've seen Digitalman's Borlas, Quad Round. He installed 3 mos ago and they are much better quality. The Corsa's I've seen are great as well.

Damn good thing I don't have to look at the pipes while I'm driving.

The sound is great.

John

You've hit the nail on the head in reference to stock vs after-market exhaust systems. The C6 is my 3 vette (C4-5-6) and the first thing I did on each was replace the stock exhaust systems.

I have the Corsa Sport 3.5 quads on my C6 and equally love them. Nice, deep, roars when you step on it, and has that great burble when revving down.

Those who have not heard the difference really can't accurately define the "true" difference in the sound.

Jeff

Stingers or Touring? How much of a volume difference? I'd love to hear some. I want some more volume, but have to be careful not to wake up the neighbors. I'm a physician and often have to get up in the middle of the night.

Stingers.
You will NOT wake up the neighbors.
Taylor’s Personal Guarantee: You buy them and don’t like em. I’ll buy them from you.

Read a couple reports of the corsa's having misaligned tips. First thing I did with mine was take some careful measurements and make sure they were up to snuff. Turned out they were clones and the tips were straight. The tip quality is very good. I would rate the welds and overall workmanship as being good. When I had them mounted they took a little bit of screwing around to get them aligned but they came off the lift looking perfect. Not so now. The tip on one side has tilted slightly compared to the other. The guys at Midas told me when they put them in it sometimes happens and to bring it back and they would realign them. Is this possibly your problem or are they actually tweaked?

Can other tips be used on the Borla Stingers? Specifically, could you use GM Performance Exhaust tips, since that system is also made by Borla? Alot more $$ to do this if possible, but by doing so you'd get the Stinger sound with the C6 emblems.

No, borla tips are a weld on tip. The GM Tips are a screw on design, like those seen at Pepboys!

The tips are welded in place and not aligned with each other. I'm just too bust at work to do anything right now. I'll wait & see.
Thanks Crab
