Does anyone have any ideas on how to invoke the Lemon Law yourself? Who do you contact GM directly or the selling dealer. If there is anyone who has done this please help. I have had the Clutch replaced and going on its 3td time and the crank bolt pully took a crap today.

From Atty Gen guidelines:
How Does the Lemon Law Work?
Manufacturers establish an Industry Third Party Dispute Resolution Program to evaluate your claim. You can find information about this program in your vehicle ownership manual. To initiate action under the Lemon Law, contact the designated manufacturer representative for your vehicle. This representative will forward the required information and forms to you.
Preserving Your Claim
Lemon Law claims cannot be initiated directly through the dealer. Many consumers have lost their Lemon Law remedy because they waited longer than 12 months from the purchase date, the time period in which Lemon Law complaints must be filed, all the while believing they were proceeding under the Lemon Law through their dealer.
Keep in mind - it is extremely important that you file with your designated representative before your right to do so has expired!
I'm too lazy to go out to the car now, but I would assume it is required by each manufacturer by law to print this information in the owner's manual .. if it is not there, then GM or the dealer should give you the rep. name and contact info
I am currently going through the process on a Cadillac SRX - sort of. In my case I contacted Cadillac Customer Service and requested that they repurchase my vehicle. They reviewed my case and agreed to the repurchase without having to go through the official Lemon Law process. Basically, they used the Lemon Law rules in my state to establish my eligibility and calculate the usage fee. I may have been able to get more for my vehicle if I went through the official Lemon Law process since I think it would have allowed me to keep the rebates whereas GM is not counting them in the repurchase price. However, I am satisfied with their repurchase offer and believe it is a fair settlement.
You may want to check your state's Lemon Law. As mentioned by others, be carefull of your filing deadlines. I had several months to make a formal claim so I felt that I had nothing to loose by giving GM a chance to make it right first. If they did not resolve the matter to my satisfaction, I could have still filed an official claim.
Lemon Laws vary by state, so your exerience could be entirely different than mine.
As mentioned above, Lemon Laws vary by state. Unfortunately, Illinois has a weak lemon law. You still pay for the use of the car while you owned it. I have a hunch GM is quick to settle in states with tough Lemon Laws but drags it out in states like Illinois.

How long did it take to happen start to finish and what was wrong with the car? What did you tell them to make the offer? Trying to gauge my severity.

Ted, My car is in the shop for the fourth time...clutch and battery discharge problems. Good luck with your lemon law pursuit. I am starting to think of that, but hate to give up on a car that is so much fun to drive. With the mods you listed under your profile like the 100 shot NOS you may be in for a difficult time. Good luck.
I too had to threaten to fill a claim with Texas after a transmission problem. After I talked to the dealer about the problems, and after 3 weeks in the shop, the manager got me a new car. GM wouldn't do sh#$ about it and offered only to send me the forms to file a complaint.
This vette is my first, correct that second, GM product and it WILL be my last.

My SRX had been in the shop for 8 weeks continuous when I requested the repurchase. The dealer couldn't figure out how to fix it and waited on parts they though would fix it but didn't. It took GM a week to agree to do the repurchase and the repurchase paper work takes another 2-3 weeks. A fairly long process.
Ted, I used the Lemon Law and the process works, but it takes a long time depending on the state you live in. I used the law for a Lincoln SUV that had many, many problems. I gave up with the dealer after not getting any of the problems fixed and went directly to a lawyer who only specalizes with this law.
First try to settle with GM direct. I tried and failed. In Chicago I used Kron and Moss LTD. 1800 US LEMON. It took nearly a year but they got 100% of my money back and all court costs and fees paid by GM . My case was an S10 Blazer I had with a terrible piston slap situation.

It comes off easy with no trace and had no effect on the problems. It all happened before I even put it on. Really had not much chance to use it since I have had so many problems.
