I had the roof off on the Coupe today and took a wonderful ride up along the Ocean. (Atlantic) It was dream like except for the flapping
of the cargo covers front flap that kept waving in the rear view mirror.
Very annoying.
Someone here mentioned before that they inserted a rod of some type in the leading seam of the cover. I might try that too with a fiberglass rod. Should be enough weight and taut enough to keep the cover from flapping.
Go to Home Depot and buy a lead rod and have it cut to size...and the slide it threw the hole on the end of the flap...Dont know what thickness to buy ..But something the thickness of a pencil or maybe a little thiner...

Anyone come up with a solution?
Thank you very much gentleman, I didn't even notice the sleeve in
the cover, Home Depot here I come.
thanks again.
I too read that somebody had put a rod in the seam of the cargo cover but found it too inflexible.
He ended up buying a length of clear plastic hose that would fit the seam and filled it with BBs or lead shot. This way you get the weight but retain some flexibility.

Thank you S22c6, I'm glad I didn't buy the rod yet.
Thanks one and all.
...and then he took a heat gun to "shrink rap" the beads. This sounds like a mod for someone to market. My biggest annoynace when driving with the top out is having to buckle the passenger side seatbelt to keep it from vibrating in the wind.

Now that makes cheap, easy, sense...the other thing though, Can't remember his handle but guy driving silver coupe w/ "BLZNVET" plate said that keeping the cargo cover in place with the top mounted in the cargo area causes an issue. He showed me on my clear top where the taught elastic band, that traverses the cargo area, at the front beats againt the top, and wears a nice straight line accross it. Keep this in mind and just take off the cargo cover when you put your top in the back.
I am the one that posted using the steel rod. It works great. Windows down and top off. The rod is 3' X 3/8 thick. It holds the curtain in place. Someone was worried about scratching the top but it hangs below the top no porblem. If you have any concerns it is easy to slip out. Using bb's in shrink tube would be hard to slide in and out of the hole. I bought my steel rod at Lowe's. I am sure Home Depot will have the same. Cost $4.75.

I was the one who used bb's in heat shrink tubing and it still is working fine. However in that post, another gentleman had what I think is a better solution. He used small fishing weights on some fishing line. It would be a more flexible, heavier and cheaper solution than mine.
