Has anyone added heated seats to a 1sa? Is it already wired up, but no switches to control the heat? Many cars are configured like this due to the extremely low cost of the elements, but high cost of multiple configurations. No idea if the c6 is setup like that or not.
You can't get GM to add the heated seats without paying for the 1SB option. I guess you're asking if anyone has tried to see if they are pre-wired in the 1SA, just waiting for a DIY person to make the circuit hot. Have not read any threads here where someone tried it.

Reason: spelling
PM: Im not out to have any children, but I don't think thats quite the way I want to "make sure".
As for the seat memory, I bet it is two fold. Probably one of the cpus needs to be told to do it through the standard dealer corvette computer tool as it is most likely turned off, and the switches need to be added in. For heated seats the controls are built into the heaters as any other way could potentially lead to the professors stated suggestion. The switches just supply the relay voltage to the heating circuits which control the output themselves. (at least thats the way it normally works)
One way or another I will be attempting to DIY it, so if no one else has tried it I guess I will be the guinnea pig.
We should check with parts to see if they list only one seat or two. Also I have a 1sa build sheet and I will check if it has the seat code, if someone has a 1sb build sheet can you list what yours says

Good idea, I'll check at the next corvette club meeting. Someone there will have to have a new c6 with 1sb. Might also try to see if I could check at the dealer when I pick my car up, but then again will probably be so excited that checking build sheets will be really really far back in my mind. I got my fingers crossed that they are the same and its just a simple wiring matter!
Also, does anyone happen to have a wiring/electrical manual? That would also be useful to try to track down how the seats are wired up. One worry I have is that the seats are wired, but the car is not. Could be something as simple as just tapping available sources, but probably will mean wiring back into the fuse box and getting some connectors or maybe an update to the computer. Course on the land rovers (depending on year) you just need to buy 2 10 dollar switches and a 30 dollar plate and you are good to go. Maybe this will be that simple.

Build sheet for my 1SB shows the RPO as AQ9 SPORT SEAT It also has RPO code KA1 HTD SEAT
I'm trying to add seat heaters also. The dealer is saying that in order for the heater controllers to work, the computer needs to be reprogrammed to enable the controllers. They are quoting $1500 for both seats and they really don't want to do the job. Let me know if you are successful in getting them working. Wsawyer@nc.rr.com

Do you realize that you just posted in a thread that died 6 1/2 years ago?
