With respect to the Vette, good luck getting a dealer to accept any GM discount. I just got through trying to buy a second one before the GMS went off June 1...called half the country after searching for what I wanted...nobody takes it. Except one jackass in Ohio...who told me they honored it, talked the car up and then casually mentioned his $4000 add back! Funny F***er.
Only reason I wanted another '05 was to get it cheap...if I'm out the other $4500 (can get $3000 off MSRP locally)...I'll just wait for the '06 and have one of each!
Does anyone really know for sure what the status is on GMID orders currently in the system? I also just read on another forum (DigitalCorvettes) that the whole program was reinstated just 2 days after the bomb dropped last week. I have a coupe on GMID order since March 7 with a deposit on it but still at 1100, no build date yet, supposed to be next month. This is through Ken at VetteNet. If the GMID is being pulled out from under me now and the price is going to go up by over $5K, then I will have to cancel my order and cry for awhile (just sold my beautiful C5 2 weeks ago). Can anyone here tell me for sure whats happening? My summer is about to go down the tubes and I just lost my job last week too, lifes not exactly great right now...

Bummer...I feel for you. The poster of the original bad news on this forum was Rick Daniels at Les Stanford. Maybe go to the supporting dealers section and email him...he seems pretty good with that type of info.
I just received this from a highly respected and very
reliable source
