Borderline Lemon!!!!!!
Sunday I decided to take a nice ride and my "Service Active Handling" light came on after hitting a small bump in the road. I'm like WTF now!@#! The car began to shift very hard as if I installed a shift kit in the car. At this point my blood is boiling. After turning the engine off and back on, the active handling system decided to play nice and not show itself again and shifting was once again smooth. I drove the car maybe 10-15 miles.
I have not driven the car all week since I've been busy with work. Today ( Thursday) I took the car out so I could go to the convenience store. As soon as I crank the engine I notice the engine light was on. I back out of the garage, hit the onstar button to get someone to diagnose the problem. I was told by the onstar operator "this code is drivetrain system/throttle system - critical malfunction. Highly recommend not driving the car and tow to dealership.
Now, here's why I'm so damned pissed!!! My car is barely driven!!!! I'm having this many problems with 3k miles? What gives? I do understand that their is a ton of electronics in the car but damn my road bike (bicycle) has just about 4k miles on it and its outdoing my new vette!
After spending 54k I would expect something a little bit better than this. I know, first year blah blah but I'm to the point if this car continues to go in the shop it's going up for sale. My attitude would be a lot different if I ragged my automobiles but my auto's are well taken care of, this is just rediculous. Had plans to go to a car show tomorrow night and hit the beach this weekend in FL, kiss those plans goodbye. The car will have to go back into the shop tomorrow. Makes trip #4 to the shop since Jan w/ 3k miles.
I had to vent
Hope you have a problem free car back very soon.
At every intersection that I stopped at, the NAV would update my position to the current position, but as soon as I took off, if I was heading north on a road, the display would show me moving south. For every mile I went north on the road, the screen would move south one mile from my starting point.
After about an hour of this, it finally started working correctly. I think when the battery is disconnected it does a lot of strange things to the car for a short time.

Sorry man, I know you're distressed, just trying to make you smile

Go to the Sign Shop in your towm. Have them make a static sign that you can put on your door that says
"stop me and ask me how this car is a LEMON"
booo GM

"stop me and ask me how this car is a LEMON"
booo GM

one bad apple does not a bad tree make. i agree with all the above posters in that messing with the electrical system in ANY car can create problems if not done correctly. this is not a GM specific issue. nor is it a vette specific issue. it is a THIS GUY'S VETTE specific issue. and it sucks. sorry man, hang in there and make sure they are aware of your frustration. threaten to report thier service center to the better business bureau if you have to, but make it clear to them that you will not stand for another half assed repair. good luck man!
