Default Raise driver’s seat

My wife is quite short. Has anyone ever put blocks under the tracks or done anything to raise the seat?

"Big Jimm" and you want to raise the seat? You are one good husband. I would ride on the floor if I could...I need about a 5" drop in the seat!!!

I have my seats custom made at a race car shop, but I'm sure you could easily get some sort of riser for the seat. May not be the best idea for seat belt/air bag when you are in there vs. your wife though!

I don't know if that would be a good idea. If you get a taller passenger in there they are going to have a problem.

In many cars I've had, I simply removed the two front bolts that attach the seat to the floor and added some shims under the legs in order to tilt the seat back a bit. I do this because my legs are long and tilting the seat back like this raises my knees and pulls my feet back away from the pedals a bit so it's more comfortable. I just did this the other day on my Highlander, noticeable improvement from a quick, easy cheap mod. In some cases, you may need longer bolts dependnig on how much shimming you do.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't shim all four seat legs to get the entire seat to come up a bit... should be very easy. I haven't done it on a C6 yet, maybe a C6 owner can let us know if it's possible. If the C6 seats are bolted in like typical car seats, first remove the two front bolts... add say an inch of shims (could be typical washers) under the legs and replace the bolts (again, you may need longer bolts at this point, obtain at local hardware store). Then, once done, remove the two rear bolts and do the same. At this point the seat should be an inch higher which, while seemingly a small increment, would actually be a significant improvement in your case.

Or, you could look into a good fitting comfortable pad or pillow for the wife to sit on... much easier solution.

The only possible downside to shimming the seat from a technical point of view... in a high speed accident, the seat may now be more prone to breaking loose than if not shimmed. However, in a Corvette, if you encounter a force that is strong enough to rip the seat off the floor even if shimmed, you won't live to tell the story anyway... so I wouldn't worry about it. Use good bolts and torque properly and it'll be fine. I've done this on my cars for years, always perfect.
