My left rear tire lost air after 700 miles. a few days later it was low again. Stopped by the goodyear store and they said they would order a new tire (they did not even look at it). It took a week to get the new tire which seems long for Cincinnati but I was ok with that. My problem was when they wanted $41.74 for mounting and balance. I had a disagreement with the store. I felt this should be covered also---am I wrong? I don't know what was wrong with the old tire. My salesman at the corvette dealship paid the cost. I think the goodyear store should have told me upfront that I would have charges. I have been buying tires for years from Sam's club with never a problem or a charge like this.
I had a nail removed from one of my run flats. They removed the tire repaired it to keep its speed rating and remounted and balanced it. The Goodyear dealer was going to charge me for the repair untill I showed him the warrantee card that came with my car. All was free. I tipped the guy who did the repair and was on my way.
If a tire is defective, I think it should be replaced for free--right? I watched the tire being removed from my vette and the new tire replaced on the rim. No one ever looked at the tire to see what the problem was. It seems a strange way to do business, I always inform my customers of the cost up front. My saleman from St Mary's ohio was great--when I called him to find out what was covered--Ben immediately put the cost on his personal credit card--NOW that is a salesman!!!! I will send him a check if it should be my cost. Plus I will buy my next vette from him.
