When I start the car, the dash gauges all peg out then go to their appropriate settings. I had this in my 99 Trans Am as well and it was fixed by the dealer no probs. I was wondering is this normal in the vette? Has anyone else seen this? I would appreciate any help that you can offer. Thanks. Again this only does it when starting the car.
As you will
see in the details on the next few pages, some
warning lights come on briefly when you start the
engine just to let you know they are working. If you are
familiar with this section, you should not be alarmed
when this happens.
Also note, when you push the indicator signal down or up and the side marker blinks on and off instead of staying lit - don't worry, that's also perfectly normal.
Wow Swancoat you are extremely helpful. I can't believe that the lights actually go on and off when you move that handle thingy. I have been trying to fix that since I bought the car. THANKS A TON!! Just FYI swan, on my 99 T/A it was not normal and was fixed. Boy am I glad you explained that to me. Now only if I could figure out how to defeat an SA-5 (look it up) when it is fired at my 110 million dollar aircraft; or perhaps land aboard an aircraft carrier's deck while pitching 22 feet at night with no moon and only one engine, I'll be set. Maybe you can help out with that too. In case you didn't notice, that was sarcasm as well. But seriously, everyone else thank you very much for the inputs and I should have looked it up in the manual first. Although while working my short 14 hour days, I have a few minutes here or there to surf the net and see whats new in this awesome world of corvettes.
