141 - Crazy!
Sorry forum, I got caught in a race!!
We were leaving from shopping last night, when we got cut off by a Trans-Am that was tailgating a 928 Porsche. My wife said, keep up with them!
From the grocery store for about 2 miles we were doing around 65 to 70 mph.
Over the an interstate overpass the Trans-Am 'kicks' it gear and goes around the Porsche. I stay on the TA the whole time. Then the Porsche in the right lane goes flying by. My wife yells, Go after him!
So I did, leaving the Trans-Am in the dust! My wife wanted me to over take the Porsche, but, I have to admit, I was a little chicken and decide just to tailgate him. I did look down once and saw 131!
We stopped in the McDonald's parking lot and talked to the Porsche owner, I could see he modified the car. I saw a roll cage inside the car and special 5 point seating harness. He told me he changed his engine to a small block Chevy. He said we were doing between 140 to 145 mph.
His car smelled like something was burning - he must of hit the limits of his engine or something!? Our car wanted to run AGAIN! The C6 was just purring at 140!
It was a blast, but I don't know if I am up to do it again!

Top Off
Maybe if we didn't have our top off, I might have went for it and passed the Porsche.
With an open top, things get loud! You really feel the sense of speed with you hear the wind gusting in the cabin.
We had our pet schnauzer with us - she was going nuts too!

He forgot to mention the bunch of mylar ballons he had in the back that were getting buffeted around scaring the schnauzer and the two hamsters. I don't know, but doing 140 on public roads, in traffic, on Friday night, hmmm, not the Gumball Rally, maybe the Morgue Run II?

Hmm I should start a bet to see for which reason this thread will get locked:
A. Racing in places you shouldnt be and being a bad role model
B. Forgetting to take a chill pill and accusing people of being sa*ks of manure
I should PM Grumpy and ask him what kind of spread I should give on the betting
What I really would like to know is why would you grab a Porche and put a Chevy small block on it... that just sounds nutz! Nothing against Chevy's small blocks but thats the wrong car to do it on
