Has anyone had problems with the Active Handling System warning message. Mine came on several times over a period of time so I took it into the dealer for a few fixes. They've had it now for 9 days and still not fixed.
Message Came On And I Called On Star They Read The Code And Called The Dealer And Told Them The Code The Dealer Fixed The Problem Next Day Had It In A Number Of Times Before That And The Dealer Couldn't Get A Code Because The Message Would Not Come Up So The Next Time I Got On Star To Diagnois The Problem! Well Worth The Money I Pay For It! Code 0710 S52 Sif Replaced Steering Wheel Position Sensor And Cleared
I sent a note to about 30 C6 owners out here in SoCal and about half sent messages back that the warning message showed up on their DIC. Most said they continued driving and when they restarted the engine the message went away. Several said they had taken the car into the dealer and it was fixed. Some said the steering wheel sensor was replaced which seemed to fix the problem. Some said Chevy is aware of problem and is working on a fix. Day ten and mine is still not back in my garage.
Just took mine in for the intermittent problem early this week. Dealer didn't have the module to pull the codes (said it was out riding around in another car). He was very apologetic so I let it slide, came home, researched it here (searched for "service active handling") and got the two sensor numbers that seem to have the most to do with the problem.
Called the dealer, he ordered them and will (he says) let me know when they are in. Seemed sort of relieved that I knew more than he did....
Shutting the engine off and restarting will reset mine. A local dealer checked it and said it was a steering wheel angle sensor. It's ordered and will be on soon.
The end of day ten and still the car is not fixed. Now they plan on replacing a module for the braking part of the system. The steering wheel module has already been replaced and that did not complete the fix. Maybe tomorrow the fix will be in. I will continue to update with events.
Mine comes on intermittently. Shutting off the car and restarting usually fixes it. Sometimes it takes several restarts before it goes away. (control - alt - delete?)
Tis the end of day eleven and all through the house not a repaired vet in sight. Dealer now says the need to replace the brake module and it could take days according to the tech. They have the part but they say it will take a long time doing. I'll keep you updated.
Mine also, goes away after a couple of restarts...However almost all the time it comes on when i go over 5k rpm with it on..after i let go of gas there you go it's on again......Anyone else had the same problem...And is it that big of a deal, i mean is it a code thing or is it the real thing and must not drive it till i get it fixed..thanx guys

That's exactly how mine acted. Took it to Jim Reed here in Nashville yesterday, they rented me a Silvarado for the 5 hrs it took to fix it, seems to be fine. Replaced a steering sensor.
Don't know if it's the "real thing" or not, but don't want it popping on and confusing my small brain....
edit: BTW, it was a very painless dealership/Mr. Goodwrench encounter. Treated well and promptly...

Just had mine replaced yesterday. Only had 4796 miles on her.
Only took 24 days but finally the buggy is backin my garage without the problem. They replaced steering wheel sensor, brake sensor and twenty four days worth of other things til they finally repaired/replaced an EBCM that was faulty as well. So far no DIC messages.
Ever since i wrote the reply the mess. never came on...crossing my fingers...lol
Thanx for the info guys
You know this message is a standard message that has more to do with initial conditions of the system after startup than with a failure. When you are driving the car after start up and do not meet the required initial calibration conditions you will get the message. One of the things it checks is the steering wheel sensor while you are driving in a straight line so the system knows the correct steering wheel position representing straight ahead. If you do not exceed the threshold speed for the check and do not go sufficient distance (100 ft.) you get the message.

SO you are saying there may be no problem since we are not meeting the initial calibration standard?
That may be, BUT on my vehicle, I could do donuts (I DID!) with the AH/TC ON!
Steering position sensor on order...................
