Im #2 at my dealer for '06 convertibles and they said i should be getting it in september or october, but not to be surprised if i don't see it till christmas...
Im still undecided on the colour...pondering between Black and DSOM...i know colour is a personal thing, so asking for opinions is pointless...but i wouldnt mind some suggestions or comments from current Black or DSOM owners...any problems with the colours? etc...
Black is way cool looking color. If you have never owned a black car before than perhaps borrow one and try to keep it clean looking.
I have nothing but admiration for you black vette owners and I think the cars are sharp. But I have owned a few black cars in my day and although I liked them, it just seemed to me they were a bit of a pain to keep clean looking. Maybe it works though on a vette since we clean them before, during, and after we take them out of the garage.
DSOM seems like a good choice. I have never owned an orange car before, and I have yet to take delivery of mine (hopefully it arrives soon) so I don't know how easy it is to keep clean in comparison. But I really liked the color so that is why I bought it.
For some reason I was not even interested in the C6 until I saw one in DSOM. I had seen it in red, and the first one I sat in was black. But something about the orange color attracted me, perhaps it was because it was different than vette colors in the last two decades.
Car companies have been making cars in black since the beginning of the century. So you could say that black is best because it is not a fad color and if it has been around for 100 years. It must be a good choice since it has stood the test of time.
I am sure you will get some more biased answers such as mine. You will have to decide for yourself which color is best for you.

My TL is black...and yes it is a pain to keep clean...and yes it shows every little scratch and swirl mark...nothing a good wax won't cure...but when it is clean, its such a beautiful colour!
I’ve seen one DSOM and one Blk vette....both coupes...both were equally nice...I wish they would re-introduce the spiral metallic grey (I believe that’s the correct name) that they offered for the late model C5s...then I wouldn’t be having this dilemma!
Black: 24 /7 cleaning nightmare.
Red: Everyone has one.
Blue: Its almost black.
Yellow: No need to hail a taxi
White: Least favorite on Vette poll
Silver: Boring.
DSOM: Modern day rust job
I have DSOM and was a little unsure but it was my wife's favorite so. I'm so happy I got it. It is really different and just gorgeous. People comment all the time about what a great color and so different from all the other Corvettes. I have coupe with translucent top that looks black and the contrast of DSOM with black really makes it. So a vert with black top would look great.
DSOM with DSOM painted top, to me, would not look as great.
GO WITH DSOM
A clean, lowered black C6 is a seriously fine looking ride but again maintaining the finish on a black car is hell.
As good as it looks I will never buy another new black car again.
DSOM is nice too.
I have LMB and love it with the polished and my red calipers. The red tail lights, polished, and red calipers look stunning.
BLACK: Nothing....I mean NOTHING looks better than a clean black vette...LeMans Blue is a close second in my book. However, nothing looks worse than a dirty black vette.
DSOM: If you will drive it to work occasionally and drive it regularly, and will "try" to wash it weekly get the DSOM. A beautiful color with a gorgeous finish...it will also cut you a little slack with dust and road kill (bugs).
Be honest on this one...if you are going to clean it atleast once a week, cover it at night, and only drive on weekends, get the black.
DSOM - if those are your final two choices...that is what I would recommend...happy waiting!

Lets really be honest, once a week?.. Black is only clean for 1/2 hour after you spend 2 hours cleaning it. Covers, garages and dustbusters can stop the attack.. Sorry, but this is the truth...
