Seems now I have to press the recirc button on the climate control every time I turn the system on, i.e., it won't retain the "recirc on" setting when the system is shut off. I keep it on Auto, but I think this is a new phenomenon.
I'm pretty sure it's designed that way. I leave my climate control on AUTO all the time. Within just a few seconds after my car starts up on a hot day, the recirculation button comes on automatically. It stays on for a few minutes, then goes off automatically.
Someone in another thread opinioned that the A/C system would freeze up if it stayed on all the time, but I don't know enough about A/C systems to know if that's true or not.

Reason: spelling

That's the way it is supposed to work. In high humidity, there is a likelihood that the condenser would freeze over if the recirc mode were on all the time.

Anybody else have this happen or know a fix?
My C5 did that too.
In the C6, the recirc comes back on just a few seconds after the A/C starts. Try setting the A/C in a custom mode, not auto, and use the memory to retain the settings. I think you'll be happier.
