Trying to decide whether to go for the visor mount (not the visor clip) or mirror mount offered by Great Lakes. Used the mirror mount in the C4 and have the mirror mount in the C5, but the mirror in the C6 is HUGE and i am concerned that the Valentine will create a hazard in blocking my view.
Any comments on the the visor mount that mounts to the retaining clip? Stability, strenght, etc.
I got the visor mount. It is plenty strong. I thought it was too long as it put it right up near the windshield, more exposed to the sun and more likely to draw attention to it. I cut about an inch in length from it and now it is away from the windshield, more to my liking. It was not really bad to begin with, I just like it a little shorter.
When you mate the V1 bracket to it, I am not sure you will be able to go back as the GL mount is a bit thicker.

that's exactly what i did...only i took 1.5" off the length....like it much better that way...in fact, before shortening it, it was so close to the windshield that you might as well have it on the windshield....works fine...very strong

Here is what I did to shorten it. Cut it in half, then overlapped the two pieces and put two screws through them.
