That's not good! I didn't know there was a problem with the C6
No electrical problems to report with 13,000 plus miles on my C6. However the check engine light came on while driving Friday even though all the gages are reading normal. So I made an appointment to take it back to the dealer on Monday. Hope it's not the beginning of the dreaded crankcase pulley meltdown.

I agree with Vrodder64-a good share of the electrical problems in the C6 are probably battery related.A short inside the battery behaves like any other short in the electrical system, giving bizarre messages on the DIC.Make sure the dealer checks the battery thoroughly including a load test.I started developing erratic door lock operation in my work car a while back-a 2002 Toyota Celica GTS,though the car started just fine. One day at work,no start.Diagnosis was short in battery.New battery, and all problems went away.I put an Optima redtop in my C6 as soon as I got it home.I have had zero electrical problems so far.
...the DRL socket melt down, buzzing shifter and loud tranny noises that take away my initial joy...
These are new ones on me. DRL socket meltdown? Is this common across all C6s? Is the meltdown due to a bad connection, or bulb too hot? Maybe a resistor could be put in line to reduce wattage to these bulbs so that they are less likely to overheat? Who cares if they run dim, not me.
Buzzing shifter... ok, I've heard that one... but in some cases it was just a lose fitting **** which is easy to fix. Is there a problem with the shifter itself? I once had a car with a high quality but rattling shifter mechanism... drove me completely nuts... can't have that. I guess a Hurst could always be swapped into a C6, hopefully they don't rattle too.
Loud tranny noises??? I assume you have the manual. What noises and why?

The computers tend to go nuts and spit out all sorts of spurious error messages when the battery voltage drops below 10.5 volts. When you get erratic behavior like this, always measure the battery voltage first.
