Help - Cracked Windshield

I noticed yesterday there was a crack in the windshield that started from the bottom by where the heads up displays. It went about half way up my windshield. Today, before I washed the car I noticed the crack has gone completely up to the top. Help - There are no visible signs of chips or anything. The car hasn't been moved in 2 days and I didn't notice this on Wednesday the last time I drove it. It is clearly visible now from the inside. I also find it weird that it looks like the crack stopped in 2 places on it's way up, that still don't look like they have a crack through them.Has anyone had a windshield crack like this or at all that had to be replaced my warranty and was honored?? I am in Jersey and will probably head to Kerbeck on Monday since they are the most reputable place by me. Dave - Who should I speak with when I get there?
Any help guys would be appreciate.

With no witness mark of rock or tool impact, sounds like an incorrectly installed windshield.
Perhaps a small object (pebble, coin, ??) left in the windshield track that caused a stress riser, which started the fracture. If so, the object will still be in place most likely, at the starting point of the failure.
I found a small penknife inside my passenger seat track while installing my fire extinguisher mount, so things do happen at the factory.
Good luck, sounds like a warranty issue to me.

They may balk, but stand by your guns. Rear window on daughters Honda completely shattered while sitting in drive way for no obvious reason. Stress crack??

). I have only had the car 6 wks and I'm sad to admit it, but it sits in the driveway 3-4 days a week, and thats w/o rain, during rain its parked. This has messed up my whole weekend.

1st report I've seen on the windshield. Good luck girl.
Until it's repaired, I recommend that you drink heavily

!!! Drinks are in hand and I'm calling Kerbeck 1st thing tomorrow morning. I am off so I hope they can get me in, if not my next day off is Friday and its supposed to rain then. I will not dig driving 1 1/2hrs in the rain.I'll keep everyone posted.

This dealer did not become the "World's Largest Corvette Dealer" based on people's experiences w/ their service department. I worked in the business for 5 yrs and I'm appauld w/ the so-called customer service I received. I lost 3 hrs of my life today that I'll never get back. I called before going down and their 1st question was "where did you buy the car?" (Don't see why this is info they needed, especially since I've had the car for 5 1/2 wks) I drove over 1 1/2 hrs to the dealer and got nowhere. The manager came out and keep digging into one spot of the crack until he finally broke into the glass w/ his pen point. His response was "its not a warranty issue, rock chip caused this, take it to the dealer where you bought it."
My response to this is I would have taken it to my dealer 1st, but its 5 1/2 hrs away. Had I'd know this was going to be a waste of my time, I would have headed north instead of south.I have never heard of a dealership that would not service a car/check into a warranty issue just b/c the car was not purchased there. They were trying hard to find anyway not to deal w/ my windshield. If a rock chip was the cause, I would be more than happy to replace the windshield, but there was no catch or chip before the dealer started messing w/ it. I did the pen inspection on Saturday and found no catch, the crack doesn't even meet in the middle. It starts @ the bottom, stops halfway, and then picks back up 4" latter.
I hold them responsible for any problems I may have getting this windshield covered under warranty. I am not posting this to bash the dealer, but to inform people on this forum. I am fully aware that I am not the only one who has had a problem w/ this service department. I know I am just one person, but I did plan on using this service department for all my servicing on my car, and now they lost money that they could have made from me over the years. Might not be much from one person, but I'm sure I am not the only one who has stopped using them.
I do appreciate all of the advice given to me.
Unfortunately, my 1st experience w/ this dealership will be my last.
