I'm having power top trouble. I wonder if the switch on the trunk divider, between the trunk and the top storage area is bad. First time it happened, I just took off the divider and placed it back in position; this worked. Now, this solution no longer works. Makes me think the switch is faulty. I'm thinking of disconnecting the switch to try and bypass it and see if it works. What do you think? I ask you b/c your fix with the trunk lid switch.

I don't have the power top so its hard for me to comment. If your handy with a voltage meter you could easily test the switch. Disconnect the switch and check continuity on the switch and see if it makes and breaks when pressed.
If the switch is in the "open" state you should be getting the "secure partition" message on the DIC when the top stops working. Some times the partition does not put enough pressure on the switch to close the circuit.
That's the funny thing; I'm not getting that message. However, once when I did disconnect and reconnect the divider, the top worked. That's why I'm thinking the switch might be bad.
C5 is correct sometimes there is not enough pressure applied, and it also can partialy dilodge when the top goes down .putting stuff in the trunk against the divider will also cause a problem even after the stuff is removed
